Glossary : Large Format Printing

Large format printing refers to large sized prints, typically A1 sized or larger, produced in full colour utilising full colour digital ink jet printers. Large format printers are well suited to one off and short run print jobs where the cost of employing traditional printing methods would prove prohibitive. With modern inks and materials the quality of professionally produced large format prints is more than a match for those produced via traditional methods. Add to this the cost benefits and fast turn around times and you can see why large format printing is a fast growing area in the displays sector.

Once printed, graphics are usually mounted and laminated for added durability and large format printers can also print onto a wide range of materials such as backlit film, artist canvas, metallic film and window vinyl. Our large format printers can produce prints up to 1.5m wide and 15m long in a single run, though larger sizes can be produced by tiling images across any number of strips.
