Glossary : Laminating

Laminating is one of a number of finishing processes we offer as part of our Large Format Printing service. Ususally combined with mounting, laminating refers to the process of covering a print with a protective plastic film. The films provide added toughness, are water resistant and provide additional UV protection from fade (though for best results in direct sunlight UV inks should be used) and are available in a number of finishes including Matt, Gloss and Mark Resistant for extra protection when prints are frequently handled (pop-up systems etc.).
